SUMMARY
A growing manufacturing and print production organization is seeking an experienced Digital Press Operator to support high-quality label and packaging production operations. This position is responsible for operating advanced digital printing equipment, maintaining color consistency, performing equipment setup and preventative maintenance, and ensuring all finished products meet customer and quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent attention to detail, and prior experience working with digital printing systems in a fast-paced production environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and monitor digital printing equipment to ensure efficient, accurate, and high-quality production output.
- Prepare production jobs by reviewing digital files, organizing print queues, and confirming job specifications prior to setup.
- Configure machinery for different materials, widths, and production requirements while maintaining proper calibration settings.
- Perform routine press adjustments during production runs to maintain registration, color quality, and print consistency.
- Troubleshoot print defects, material feed issues, streaking, color variation, and other production-related concerns.
- Conduct regular quality inspections using visual checks and measuring tools to confirm finished products meet production standards.
- Support variable data printing projects and verify accuracy of barcodes, serialized information, and personalized print elements.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks, including cleaning systems, replacing consumable components, and maintaining equipment performance.
- Track inventory levels for inks, cleaning supplies, and production consumables while coordinating replenishment needs.
- Maintain accurate production documentation, including waste reporting, maintenance logs, and material usage records.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures related to equipment operation, chemicals, and production environments.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and prepress teams to meet customer deadlines and production goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience operating digital printing equipment in a manufacturing or print production environment.
- Experience within label, packaging, or commercial print operations strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of digital color management, print quality standards, and production workflows.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and complete technical maintenance activities.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple production priorities.
- Comfortable using production software systems and digital file management tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Technical training, industry certifications, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work within a production facility environment.
