Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Cook with a passion for authentic Thai cuisine to join our culinary team. Working closely with our Head Chef, you will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Thai food preparation, food service operations, and collaborative kitchen work. This role requires expertise in executing established Thai menu items, a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and a desire to continuously learn and grow within our culinary team. You will support the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production while managing inventory and contributing to a positive kitchen environment. We understand not everyone is familiar with cooking Thai cuisine and will be training if you do not have experience cooking Thai.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service periods.
Execute established Thai menu items with precision and consistency, maintaining high quality standards and presentation.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety practices.
Assist with inventory control
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
Collaborate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sous Cook or in a similar culinary role within the restaurant or hospitality industry, with a strong focus on Thai cuisine.
2+ years experience as a Thai chef is a bonus
Strong collaborative skills with experience working effectively in a team environment.
Extensive knowledge of Thai food production techniques, ingredients, and food handling practices.
Familiarity with dietary department operations is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff and management.
Knowledge of inventory management systems and practices.
