Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher to join our educational team, dedicated to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for children with diverse needs. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in designing engaging curriculam, implementing individualized support plans, and collaborating with families and professionals to promote optimal developmental outcomes. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, including those with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities.
- Lead classroom activities that promote literacy, math, communication skills, social-emotional development, and early childhood education principles.
- Utilize educational technology tools and instructional modifications to enhance learning experiences and accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management strategies and behavioral therapy techniques, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress, prepare documentation such as Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, therapists, parents, and other educators to coordinate student support plans and ensure effective communication.
- Maintain compliance with special education laws and standards, including standardized testing procedures and documentation requirements.
Experience
- Proven classroom experience in elementary or preschool settings, preferably within private or Montessori schools focused on early childhood education.
- Extensive background working with children who have disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or require special education services.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and early intervention strategies.
- Strong knowledge of behavior management techniques for students with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Experience working with IEP processes, instructional modifications, behavioral health support, and autism spectrum disorders support strategies.
- Familiarity with educational technology integration to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
- Excellent communication skills for parent-teacher collaboration, mentoring colleagues, and working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
