Our Cider Donuts are our signature product! As we head into our busiest season, we are seeking to increase our staff with a reliable team member who doesn't mind hard work and takes pride in producing happiness (by way of donuts!). PLEASE NOTE: this is a seasonal position, starting asap and ending in mid-November. Saturdays and Sundays are required.
Daily Operations
- Assess daily inventories of baked goods and confer with the manager to determine what products need to be made for that day and upcoming days.
- On any given day, some or all these tasks may be performed:
- `Prepare donuts from scratch, using our recipes. This is high volume/repetition work.
- `Bake pies, cookies, and other baked goods at the manager’s discretion.
- `Prepare baking mixes for sale.
- `Produce caramel and candy apples
- `Food prep for grab and go/ready to eat concessions
- `Keep track of what was made when and rotate items for sale properly.
- `Manage ingredients and supplies for the least amount of waste.
- `Prepare special orders
- `Clean workspace, including washing dishes
- `Deep clean kitchen and equipment
- `Keep workspace clean and safe at all times.
- `Follow all safety training and instructions.
- `All food items must be high quality, consistent in appearance and taste, and visually appealing.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Kitchen, restaurant, or bakery experience preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Location based job at Chiles Peach Orchard, Crozet, Virginia
- Kitchen workspace
- Tobacco and drug-free workplace (including all grounds)
- Weekend hours are required; some evenings may be required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work in busy spaces occupied by several employees and many customers.
- Kitchen workspace – can be very warm at times.
- Have the physical ability to bend, lift (up to 50 pounds), stand on your feet for several hours at a time, and move with purpose from one point to another throughout the day.
- High volume production with a lot of repetition
MENTAL DEMANDS:
- ·Ability to mentally perform all tasks at hand with precision, and minimal error.
- Critical thinking and prioritizing essential tasks are necessary and are not limited by stress factors, large crowds, and deadlines.
