Responsibilities
- Prepare wood surfaces through sanding, cleaning, and surface treatment to ensure optimal coating adhesion.
- Apply stains, paints, varnishes, and powder coatings using conventional spraying equipment and airless paint sprayers with precision.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, spray guns, and machining equipment safely and efficiently to achieve desired finishes.
- Interpret production documents and specifications to determine appropriate finishing procedures and color matching standards.
- Maintain adherence to quality standards in production by inspecting finished surfaces with visual color comparison tools and measuring instruments.
- Handle materials safely using proper materials handling techniques and operate forklifts or cranes as needed for loading/unloading materials.
- Follow safety protocols diligently by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and respiratory protection devices, especially during spray painting or coating processes.
- Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly disposing of waste materials and cleaning tools after use in compliance with safety regulations.
Skills
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, spray guns (including airless paint sprayers), and machining equipment for surface finishing.
- Strong understanding of coating application techniques such as conventional spraying, powder coating, auto body repair methods, and industrial painting processes.
- Knowledge of construction painting surface preparation and auto painting standards to achieve high-quality finishes.
- Ability to interpret manufacturing instructions, technical drawings, and production documents accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication equipment, welding processes, and the operation of cranes or forklifts for materials handling.
- Familiarity with quality standards in production environments to ensure consistent finish quality across all projects.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to coating thicknesses, color matching, and material quantities.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency while maintaining safety protocols.
- Attention to detail in visual color comparison for precise color matching on wood surfaces.
- Knowledge of safety procedures including PPE use, respiratory protection measures, and adherence to safety protocols during all finishing operations.

Pay: $24.31 - $29.27 per hour
