About the Role
The
Manager, Revenue Recognition Strategy is a high-visibility role responsible for supporting monthly and quarterly revenue recognition processes, with a particular focus on standalone selling price (SSP) analysis and reporting.
This role will also support SOX compliance, revenue recognition systems initiatives, and process improvements. As a subject matter expert in revenue recognition, the Manager will partner closely with Finance, Product, Sales, Business Technology (BT), and external vendors to evaluate new go-to-market initiatives, deal structures, pricing and packaging changes, and business models.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, analytical, and collaborative finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. This individual will be comfortable navigating complex issues resulting from acquisitions, changes in revenue recognition requirements, and evolving go-to-market strategies, while providing practical guidance to business partners and senior leadership.
The Manager, Revenue Recognition Strategy reports to the
Director, Revenue Recognition.
Key Responsibilities-
Review and oversee standalone selling price (SSP) analyses and reporting, while continuously improving and streamlining related processes as the business evolves.

Evaluate new go-to-market and sales initiatives to identify potential gaps or required updates to revenue recognition policies and procedures.

Research technical accounting matters and draft technical accounting memos related to new accounting guidance, non-standard transactions, and emerging business models.

Develop clear, compelling presentations for company management and external auditors on complex and highly technical revenue recognition matters.

Serve as a revenue recognition subject matter expert and trusted advisor to internal teams and business partners.

Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Product, Sales, BT, and other stakeholders to assess technical revenue recognition implications of new deal models, pricing and packaging changes, partnerships, and other strategic initiatives.

Support IT and systems initiatives, including Revenue Management System upgrades and the integration of acquired entities.

Collaborate with the Revenue Recognition team and business partners to enhance existing processes, identify opportunities for automation, and drive operational efficiencies.

Partner with the Revenue Recognition team and relevant business stakeholders to develop, maintain, and enhance SOX compliance and related controls.

Stay current on evolving revenue recognition guidance, business models, and industry practices and proactively assess their impact on the organization.

Effectively communicate complex accounting conclusions and recommendations to audiences ranging from cross-functional teams to senior executives and external auditors.
Basic Qualifications-
5+ years of combined Big 4 and/or industry finance experience, with a focus on revenue recognition.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies required for the role, including professional experience, leadership, military service, volunteer experience, or other relevant background.

Strong technical knowledge of ASC 606 and experience with SOX requirements and accounting controls.

Demonstrated experience researching technical accounting topics and drafting technical accounting memos and policies.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.

Proven ability to drive results and manage priorities with minimal oversight.

Strong project management skills, including planning, task assignment, status tracking, and reporting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex accounting concepts.

Confidence to challenge assumptions and appropriately debate complex or difficult issues.

Ability to think strategically and quickly, synthesize information, and present recommendations to an audience.

Cultural sensitivity and awareness of regional business practices.
Preferred Qualifications-
Experience with SaaS and software revenue recognition.

CPA or Certified Revenue Recognition professional (CRC).

Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-growth environment where adaptability and sound judgment are critical.

Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with executives and cross-functional stakeholders.

Ability to quickly understand company operations, business drivers, and the financial implications of strategic decisions.

Experience in the high-tech/software industry.

Experience with Salesforce.
-
Experience with revenue management software, particularly Zuora Revenue.
-
Experience with Tableau is highly preferred.
Pay Details: $60.00 to $69.35 per hour
