The Art Discipline at Fisk University, invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Faculty position. The successful candidate will teach one or more introductory level courses within the discipline, and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive teaching practices. The candidate will foster intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and meaningful engagement in the classroom.

Prepare and deliver effective lectures, assessments, and learning experiences.

Hold regular office hours and provide academic support to students.

Submit grades and course documentation in accordance with university policies.

Maintain timely communication with students and department leadership.

Participate in discipline and departmental meetings and professional development activities as appropriate.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated record of effective undergraduate teaching in introductory level design courses. Undergraduate teaching record with students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
Education: Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art from an accredited institution (or 18 graduate credit hours in art).
Desired Experience: Professional exhibition record, curatorial experience, published scholarship, or other evidence of growing or sustained practice.
Additional Requirements: Experience integrating contemporary art practices or interdisciplinary approaches into coursework. Demonstrated ability to integrate traditional processes with digital technologies and contemporary modes of creative practice and instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctoral degree preferred, Master’s degree required

A Master’s degree in Business Administration or relevant discipline with experience in teaching a variety of courses in subdisciplines of Business.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years successful teaching in the field of Business
- Proven ability to cultivate professional relationships with local, state and federal businesses
