Oregon's oldest child development center, celebrating 120 years this year, is looking for an energetic, go-getter to help us with our housekeeping needs during the day.
Laundry
Several loads of laundry need to be washed, dried, folded, and delivered to classrooms daily. We wash staff aprons, washcloths, kitchen towels, sheets, blankets, and any other materials that classrooms send down to the laundry room.
Supplies Maintenance
We get a large delivery weekly of cleaning supplies (toilet paper, Kleenex, gloves, paper towels, etc.) once a week that needs to be put into the storage closets.
Responsible for making sure the common area bathrooms are stocked with supplies and sanitizer/disinfectant and are clean and tidy.
Check all classrooms and playgrounds for sanitizer and refill as needed.
Turn in a supply order request weekly to the kitchen manager.
Housekeeping
1. Wipe door handles, railings, light switches, telephones in classrooms, conference room, lobby and upstairs lounge with Sani-quat, at least twice a day.
2. Take dishes in Staff kitchen upstairs to kitchen.
3. Recycling - Pick up recycling from Administrative area in the morning. Deposit in Recycle containers in upstairs outside recycle area.
4. General Housekeeping – Pick up meeting room and staff lounge. Dust and wet wipe tables. Pick up downstairs kitchen area.
5. Clean finger prints off front door glass and upstairs glass panels daily.
6. Keep laundry room neat and clean on a daily basis. This includes keeping washers and dryers clean eternally, floors swept, trash emptied, surfaces clean and dusted.
7. Water Flowers out in front of building twice a week.
8. Empty outside garbage can by front door twice a week.
9. Dust cobwebs in center once a week.
10. Mop back hallway once a week and as needed.
11. Clean out/wipe down lounge and downstairs refrigerators – throw out old left overs.
12. Clean microwave in lounge and downstairs kitchen.
13. Dust administrative area i.e.…tables, counters, desk, and office equipment. Remove all items and thoroughly dust.
14. Wipe administration area, including all surfaces, book shelves, top of file cabinets etc. with cleaning solution.
15. Clean lids to bottom wipe trash containers, dirty laundry and all trash containers.
16. Vacuum vestibule.
17. Sweep outside the front doors.
Monthly
Housekeeping
1. Deep clean classroom chairs and cots. Check-in with Lead Teachers.
2. Clean walls behind trash containers
3. Clean traps in classroom sinks – use vinegar and baking sodas in traps.
4. Clean yellow recycle bins in all classrooms.
Other Tasks & Special Projects
Must be fit for duty physically and mentally. Using proper lifting techniques must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Willing and able to stoop, crawl, kneel and bend in order to pick up materials and equipment from the floor, and be able to evacuate children in case of an emergency.
This is a part time position. It is Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm, with an hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks. Equates to 5.75 hours/day and 28.75 hours/week. You will get paid holidays, accrue paid time off and receive paid trainings. $18.22/hour.
