Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to one individual in a private home with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. You will work in a private home setting, collaborating with a team of professionals to create a safe and nurturing environment for our client.
Available Role:
- Swing Shift -- 4:00PM-12:30AM Saturday-Wednesday (40hrs/week)
- Swing Shift -- 4:00PM-12:30AM Tuesday-Friday (32hrs/week)

Duties
- Assist one adult client with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, toileting procedures, meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness of client's home, and medication management.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance the quality of life for client.
- Monitor client behavior and health status, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Implement individualized care plan tailored to client needs.
- Engage with client in recreational activities and community outings to promote social interaction and skill development.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety of both client and staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Assist in the care of supported individual's pet(s); must be comfortable around dogs.
- Perform CPR and first aid as needed, ensuring the safety of the individual in your care.
- Complete all required and annual trainings in a timely manner.
- Document daily activities & behaviors of client
- Day shifts accompanies the client in recreational outings & supports client both in the community & in the home. All day shift employees will have driving responsibilities, a vehicle is provided. 8:00AM-4:30PM
- Swing shifts primarily support the client in the home, but do provide transportation using the client's vehicle to pick up dinner each night before monitoring the client while sleeping. 4:00PM-12:30AM
- Night shifts primarily monitor the client while sleeping and complete basic housekeeping tasks. Sleeping on shift is strictly prohibited. 12:00AM-8:30AM
Experience
- Previous experience working in a DSP, PSW or group home setting is preferred.
- Background in healthcare and/or social work is advantageous but not required.
- Familiarity with assisting individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care is highly valued.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is desirable; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members are essential.
- A commitment to providing compassionate care while respecting the dignity and rights of all individuals is crucial for success in this role.
- Clean driving record
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stoop, bend, lift and carry at least fifty (50) pounds of weight without assistance.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
