Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist in meal preparation, slicing ingredients with proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and ensure timely service.
- Follow food handling procedures meticulously to uphold safety standards in production.
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting improvements based on ingredient availability and customer preferences.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food service environment, preferably within a restaurant or catering setting.
- Demonstrated culinary experience with strong knife skills and food preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production.
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and team members.
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in recipe adherence and meal presentation.
