Job Summary**
The Materials Supervisor at Primoris Energy Services in Hubbard, Texas, is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate management of materials and inventory for assigned projects. This role ensures the timely availability of necessary resources, optimizes storage and handling processes, and maintains precise inventory records to support project execution.
Job Responsibilities**
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of materials handlers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
- Manage inventory control, including receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and tracking materials and equipment.
- Implement and maintain an organized and efficient warehouse or laydown yard, optimizing space utilization and material accessibility.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies, ensuring accuracy of inventory records.
- Collaborate with project management, procurement, and field teams to forecast material needs and ensure timely delivery to project sites.
- Identify and implement strategies for materials optimization, waste reduction, and cost control.
- Prepare and submit materials reports, including inventory levels, consumption rates, and equipment usage.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Operate and maintain material handling equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and other machinery as required.
- Assist in the development and implementation of materials management procedures and best practices.
Job Qualifications**
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in materials management, inventory control, or warehousing, preferably within the energy, construction, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven supervisory experience, with the ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including receiving, storage, issuing, and tracking.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, loader) with certification preferred.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
