Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to inspire and educate students in grades six through eight. Duties
- Design and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating hands-on experiments and interactive activities
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans that incorporate diverse learning technologies and instructional strategies to meet varied student needs
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to organize course materials, track student progress, and facilitate communication with students and parents
- Implement classroom management techniques to create a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes respect and collaboration
- Adapt teaching methods to support students with disabilities or special education needs, ensuring equitable access to science education
- Incorporate literacy education and math integration into science lessons to strengthen interdisciplinary understanding
- Assess student performance regularly through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback and academic advising as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related field; advanced degrees preferred
- Valid teaching certification for middle school education with endorsement in science instruction
- Proven classroom experience working with middle school students in a diverse educational setting
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies specific to science education
- Experience using LMS platforms and learning technology tools to enhance instruction and student engagement
- Familiarity with special education practices, behavior management, and working with individuals with disabilities
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators
- Ability to incorporate innovative teaching methods such as Montessori or other child-centered approaches when appropriate
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a safe, respectful classroom environment conducive to active learning
