Objective
This role will take on the responsibility for the troubleshooting, servicing, diagnostics, and aftermarket installation for public transportation clients (Transit, Paratransit, School/Municipal and Automotive/Fleet) throughout the country. We are looking for individuals that will ensure operation, longevity and quality of our clients’ equipment. Quality service is an absolute must
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs and mechanical aftermarket installations on Public transportation systems (Transit, Paratransit, School/Municipal and Automotive/Fleet)
- Handle inbound telephone calls from customers, supervisors, and other field technicians to provide remote support to troubleshoot problems in the field
- Expected to occasionally take the lead role for diagnosis and repair of FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles), BEV (Battery-Electric Vehicles), CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), and Diesel/Diesel-Electronic hybrid equipment in the field, as well as commonly take on support roles to manufacturer’s field technicians and field engineering staff
- Test electrical and mechanical systems, including continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, CAN (Controller Area Network), hydraulic and pneumatic systems and fixtures, using hand and battery operated tools, diagnostic and testing devices
- Remove, replace, and test defective components, diagnose electrical circuits and install aftermarket supplier equipment onto OEM platforms
- Responsible for the performance of duties as a fully qualified technician including the initial inspection, and repair of all customer equipment in the in the field
- Configure and support electronic and digital devices used to monitor and control client equipment, including vehicles, chargers, supplier equipment and associated components
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment such as hand and battery operated tools, electronic testing equipment, laptop, DVOM (Digital Volt Ohm Meter), Digital Oscilloscope, and Insulation Testers, or other diagnostic tools to locate the cause of a failure and correct the problem
- Use hand and battery operated tools to perform mechanical installations to a high standard of quality and cleanliness
- Drill, tap, screw, and modify metal objects to perform mechanical installations
- Capture, import, and organize data for analysis and processing
- Accurately track time and campaign/repair progress through Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, online portal or other means as directed
- Conduct customer interactions professionally
- Ensure corrective repairs are identified and reported using service reports, product sheets and job sheets
- Travel to various jobsites within the continental US, being a main point of contact for our clients when servicing on-site
- Accurately report expenses using an expense report
- Expected travel about 75-100%, 14 days on & 4 days off travel schedule throughout the United States, regionally and locally as required. Company vehicle provided, per diem, and all travel expenses paid
- Commission available for all employees who go above and beyond for our customers
Required Skills, Experience and Education

- Prior work experience/knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Onedrive and PDF software
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately with repeatability
- Familiarity with electrical circuits and basics of electronic testing
- Familiarity with mechanical tools, instruments and repair equipment
- Reliability and flexibility are crucial for this career path, particularly when traveling and working on-site
- Comfortability with computer use and Microsoft products is required
- Physical requirements such as; ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted, standing for periods up to 4 hours at a time, and walk distances up to 100 meters at a time
- Flexibility with scheduling, as hours and shift times will vary from client-to-client, generally being first shift core hours
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be able to work within all 50 United States
- Must be willing to be subject to a pre-employment criminal background check and at random drug screening
- Candidate must have Valid US Driver's License
Preferred Skills
- Mechanically or electrically inclined candidates would excel in this role
- Hands on systems & equipment maintenance preferred, but not required
- 1-3 years of experience diagnosing electrical circuits
- 1-3 years of experience performing mechanical repairs or aftermarket installations in the automotive trade
- Trade school or post-high school education in engineering is a plus
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to manufacturing and warehouse-type settings, including moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of environmental conditions at the job site, including working outdoors at times. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, read, write, and hear English. This position is very active and requires standing for hours, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The employee must be able to lift and move items of 50 pounds.

Schedule:
- Typically 8-10 hour shift, first shift hours with small variances dependent on jobsite
- Typically 40-50 hours/week, with variances dependent on client
