- Layout, measure, cut, and fit structural steel components
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and shop layouts
- Prepare joints and materials for welding and fabrication
- Use torches, beveling equipment, grinders, and hand tools
- Perform tack welding to secure assemblies for final welding
- Verify dimensions, alignment, and fit-up using precision measuring tools
- Grind, clean, and finish materials before fabrication
- Complete inspection paperwork when required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area
- Support welders and fabrication teams throughout production
✔ 5+ years of Structural Fitter experience
✔ Strong blueprint and fabrication drawing interpretation skills
✔ Experience with:
- Structural steel layout and fit-up
- Material preparation
- Torch cutting and beveling
- Measuring and alignment
- Tack welding (preferred)
✔ Strong math and layout skills
✔ Knowledge of structural steel shapes and fabrication processes
✔ Ability to read and communicate in English
✔ Safety-first mindset with excellent attention to detail

- Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work overhead throughout the shift
- Work in a non-climate-controlled fabrication facility
- Comfortable working around noise, heat, and industrial equipment
- Steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and hard hat required
- Ability to work up to 10-hour shifts and overtime, including Saturdays, as needed
