CIE USA-Century Plastics, a division of the global enterprise CIE Automotive, is seeking a talented Sewing Machine Operator- Thermoforming to join our team.
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Primary Purpose: Operates an industrial sewing machine to perform the assembly, inspecting and packing of parts that meet or exceed our customer's expectations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate sewing machines (single, double, or multiple) to sew garments, drapery, or other fabric products.
- Follow sewing instructions and work orders, reading and interpreting patterns, measurements, and assembly methods.
- Prepare and maintain machines by threading, changing needles, cleaning, and performing preventative maintenance.
- Cut, sew, and finish fabric according to specifications, including attaching elastic, plastic, buttons, clasps, etc.
- Inspect and repair finished products for defects, and correct faulty work as needed.
- Align and assemble fabric pieces accurately to ensure proper fit and quality.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety and company standards.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members to report issues, share progress, and coordinate production.
- Select appropriate materials and thread for each project to meet quality and design requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical skills: Proficiency in using industrial sewing machines, knowledge of sewing techniques (hemming, stitching, buttonholes), and ability to read and follow patterns.
- Experience: Prior sewing or textile manufacturing experience is preferred; some roles require sewing course completion.
- Attention to detail: Ability to produce high-quality, consistent work.
- Soft skills: Good communication, teamwork, time management, creativity, and problem-solving.
- Physical fitness: Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
Qualifications:
· Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
· Ability to communicate verbally, visually and in writing.
Physical Requirements: standing, bending, lifting to 30 lbs., kneeling
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
