In this role, you’ll be instrumental in supporting students 1:1 or in small groups under the guidance of classroom teachers and staff. Your efforts will empower students to succeed, help shape a positive classroom culture, and provide direct support for daily tasks and learning objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer academic, behavioral, and social support to students within classroom environments
- Provide individualized or small-group assistance, following the teacher’s directions
- Assist with daily routines, transitions, and classroom participation
- Implement IEPs and behavioral support plans as necessary
- Support students’ mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or GED
- Active ParaPro certification, Substitute Teaching certification, or 36+ college credits
- At least 18 years of age and able to comply with TB testing requirements
- Ability to be on your feet, move throughout the classroom, and assist with lifting as needed
- Current (or willingness to obtain) background clearances as required
Preferred Background:
- School, special education, behavioral health, or childcare experience
- Familiarity supporting students with special needs or behavioral challenges
- Experience with CPI, PMT, or RBT (not mandatory)
- A patient, reliable, and team-oriented approach
