American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a float pool PCU/Progressive Care Unit position requiring Kansas and Missouri (or compact) licensure and a strong telemetry and intermediate care background.

Float pool position with no assigned home unit — will rotate between approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments across multiple metro campuses as needed

Patient population includes heart failure, MI, stroke, COPD, pulmonary embolism, bacteremia, cellulitis, hematuria, seizures, alcohol withdrawal, and more

Patient ratio of 1:6

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)

8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period, covering a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

No on-call requirements

EMR: Epic

Active KS and MO RN license, or compact equivalent, must be in hand prior to consideration — willingness to hold both licenses is required due to floating between facilities

Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred

Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience required, including at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days

Required skills include: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, rapid response, post-MI and pre/post cardiac cath care, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure management, port access, blood product administration, central/PICC/peripheral line management, phlebotomy, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), PCA, surgical drain management, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy management, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions

2 professional references required: one must be supervisor level or above, the second may be a charge RN; both must be from individuals who have worked with the candidate within the past year

RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract

Charge RN assignments and holiday shifts may be required as needed per unit
