We are looking for a highly skilled Ironworker to join our growing team. This candidate must also have a history of maintaining safe work practices and take pride in a safe work environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:-
Read and interpret steel erection and shop drawings.

Create layouts on concrete, existing structures, and materials to be fabricated. Confirm these layouts according to the drawings.

Shakeout steel in order of erection sequence per drawings.

Prepare hardware needed for materials to be erected.
-
Determine proper rigging slings and hardware according to the weight of the load.
-
Ensure that all rigging tools are safe and reliable before each use.
-
Establish effective communication with the crane operator and crew members using radio or hand signals.
-
Detect faulty operation of equipment, tools, or defective material and notify Foreman.
-
Fabricate metal parts such as metal frames, columns, beams or girders, and pipe according to blueprints or revisions from Supervisor.

Work alongside a crew to perform the erection of structural steel members.
-
Maintain a high standard of safety culture.
-
Exhibit efficient leadership skills to perform tasks on tight deadlines.
-
Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, to ensure the safety of workers and materials.
-
Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using push sticks or tag lines.
-
Select rigging gear such as cables, nylon straps, pulleys, and winches, according to the weight of the load.
-
Control movement of heavy equipment or loads through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain falls, come-along, and other equipment.

Dismantle and store rigging equipment after each use.
-
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.

Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
-
Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
-
Mark or tag material with the proper job numbers, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.

Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.

Clean or degrease parts, using wire brushes, portable grinders, or chemical baths.
-
Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools.
-
Gouge metals, using the air-arc gouging process.
-
Preheat workpieces before welding or bending, using torches or wed burners.
-
Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.
-
Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place, using cranes, or signal hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural-steel members.
-
Assemble hoisting equipment or riggings, such as cables, pulleys, or hooks, to move heavy equipment or materials.
-
Erect metal or precast concrete components for structures, such as buildings, bridges, dams, towers, storage tanks, fences, or highway guard rails.
Qualifications:-
Must be willing to relocate to Utah.

4+ years of experience as an Ironworker.
-
Experience with tight deadlines and strict safety requirements.
-
Ability to operate a telescopic forklift, boom lift, and scissor lift.

Ability to weld 3G and 4G with different welding applications.
-
Any OSHA/MSHA or other safety certifications are a plus.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Takes pride in accomplishing quality work.

Great communication skills, especially with the crane or forklift operator using hand signals or radio.

Discretion in phone usage.

Comfortable with working at heights.
-
Experience in bull-rigging is a plus.
-
Heavy industrial experience in shutdowns or turnaround is a plus.
