Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and flair
- Operate POS systems to process transactions accurately and efficiently
- Engage with customers warmly, providing excellent service and answering questions about menu items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and cash handling responsibilities with accuracy using POS systems
- Follow food safety standards and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling pastries or light snacks as needed
Requirements
- Previous barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, sales calculations, and retail math tasks
- Knowledge of food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures
- Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting light supplies, and working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of food preparation, serving techniques, and retail math concepts
