Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Child Care Director to lead our early childhood education and care programs. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations within the childcare center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children of various ages. Your leadership will foster a positive team culture, promote developmental growth, and maintain compliance with all licensing and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Establish quality vision for the center
- Maintain student records in accordance with stablished enrollment procedures and guidelines
- Maintain communications with parents of current and prospective students through direct conversation, newsletters and parent handbook
- Recruit, train, and support staff members in best practices for child supervision, behavior management, classroom management, and caregiving techniques.
- Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws, health regulations, and licensing requirements related to childcare operations.
- Approve menus
- Establish illness and emergency procedures; ensure staff are trained appropriately
- Manage administrative tasks such as staff scheduling, record keeping, enrollment processes, and budget oversight to ensure smooth center operations.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Strong oral and written communications skills; technology skills
- Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team of childcare providers while fostering a collaborative environment.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (preferably pediatric first aid) along with familiarity with mandated reporting laws.
- Experience working in daycare centers or similar childcare settings with classroom experience in early childhood education.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in caregiving practices.
- Must clear full background check
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE
- OR Plan of study to achieve the requirements
