The Kitchen Staff role at The Porch is a full-time/part-time, on-site position located in Prairie du Chien, WI. In this role, team members prepare & portion ingredients, support cooking tasks in accordance with established recipes and portion standards. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized work area, following food safety and hygiene procedures, and assisting with inventory, stocking, and kitchen setup. Kitchen Staff also coordinate with front-of-house team members to ensure timely, accurate orders and a smooth service flow. This role may include opening or closing duties, equipment cleaning, and weekly deep cleaning.
Qualifications
- Strong food preparation and basic cooking skills, with the ability to follow recipes and portion guidelines.
- Knowledge of hygiene, food safety, and sanitation practices, with a commitment to maintaining a clean work environment.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with teammates and support smooth kitchen and service operations.
- Customer service awareness, with a focus on quality, presentation, and timely order fulfillment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn and follow directions is essential.
- Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and teamwork, including flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a MUST.
