Overview
Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Preschool Teacher and play a vital role in nurturing young minds! In this rewarding position, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for preschool classroom.
Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster early childhood development, early literacy and math skills, social-emotional growth, positive behavior, and independence. This is a paid position offering meaningful hands-on classroom experience in a supportive, team-oriented setting that follows Florida DCF licensing guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with early childhood frameworks (Montessori-inspired or developmentally appropriate practices)
- Classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and maintaining a respectful, nurturing, and inclusive environment
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote literacy, math skills, fine and gross motor development, and social-emotional growth
- Provide hands-on care, including diapering, toileting, and toilet training, as needed
- Support children with unique abilities, developmental differences, or individualized needs (including autism or other disabilities)
- Help prepare classroom materials and maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning space
- Collaborate Teachers and team members to support individualized learning and behavior strategies
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, and staff
- Follow all DCF regulations, school policies, and health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or private school setting preferred
- 45 DCF training hours preferred
- CDA (Child Development Associate) preferred or equivalent
- Experience working with children with unique abilities preferred, or willingness to learn and receive training
- Knowledge of early childhood development, classroom routines, and positive behavior guidance
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
