Our client, a custom plastics fabrication company, is looking for a Model Maker to join their team in Woodland Park, NJ. In this role, you will interpret design drafts and craft precision product samples using a variety of plastics, primarily acrylic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret design drafts and create accurate product samples and prototypes
- Select appropriate materials based on design specifications
- Utilize various hand tools and industrial equipment to construct samples
- Perform alterations and adjustments to samples as required
- Present completed samples to design teams for review and incorporate feedback for modifications
- Apply finishing techniques including heat bending, gluing, and various polishing methods, primarily with acrylic materials
- Document the sample creation process for future reference and reproducibility
- Collaborate closely with designers and production teams throughout the sample development process
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sample Maker, Model Maker, or similar production role required
- Strong knowledge of various materials and production methods
- Experience working with plastics, primarily acrylic, including heat bending, gluing, and polishing techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools and industrial equipment
- Exceptional hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the ability to interpret and execute design specifications accurately
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certification in a relevant field is a plus
Pay & Schedule:
- Pay Rate: $40.00 – $45.00 per hour (based on experience)
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
