Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service during their checkout experience
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision, ensuring proper cash drawer handling
- Assist customers with product inquiries, including conducting product demos when appropriate
- Upsell additional items or services to enhance customer satisfaction and store sales goals
- Stock shelves and maintain merchandising standards to ensure product availability and visual appeal
- Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
- Support inventory management by stocking products and assisting with basic retail math for stock counts
Skills
- Proficiency in POS systems and cash register operations with strong cash handling skills
- Previous retail sales experience, especially in grocery or similar environments, is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills, including bilingual abilities to serve diverse customer needs
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities in a retail setting
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and stock management
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge and merchandising principles
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Familiarity with grocery store operations, cashiering procedures, and retail math techniques
