Position Overview
We are looking for a detail oriented and highly organized Apparel Product Development + Technical Designer to support the development process from concept through production. This hybrid role requires technical design skills, product development experience, and the ability to communicate clearly with overseas vendors and internal teams. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of garment construction, fit, measurements, and technical package creation, while also having an eye for design details and product execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed tech packs in Excel and Word Docs for apparel styles across multiple categories
- Develop accurate specs, construction details, bill of materials, and measurement charts
- Measure garments and review fit samples to ensure consistency and quality
- Evaluate garment construction, workmanship, fabrics, trims, and overall product execution
- Communicate daily with overseas factories and vendors regarding corrections, approvals, and development updates
- Create and update garment and detailed flat sketches using Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop
- Track development timelines and ensuring deadlines are met
- Collaborate with merchandising, art, sales, and production teams throughout development
- Identify and troubleshoot construction or quality issues proactively
- Maintain organized development files, approvals, and style records
- Asist in photoshoot production for seasonal catalogs
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in apparel product development and/or technical design preferably in resort, collegiate, or activewear apparel
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel with experience building technical packages
- Experience creating or editing garment sketches in Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop
- Understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and measurement standards
- Ability to accurately measure garments and communicate corrections clearly
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience working with overseas factories and vendors preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
