American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring an active MA RN license and telemetry reading skills.

Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center

Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
-
Assignment length of 26 weeks with options for 13-26 week contracts
-
Options for 36 or 48 hours per week

Shift start time may flex up to 4 hours earlier or later only in rare, urgent staffing situations

EPIC EMR experience preferred
-
Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days

Active MA RN license in hand required

Minimum 1.5 years (18 months) of RN experience required; 2+ years preferred

Level I Trauma Center experience required
-
Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS
-
Certifications preferred: NIHSS, TNCC

Must be able to read and interpret telemetry, including dysrhythmia identification and management

Skilled in respiratory care and care of ventilated patients
-
Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
-
Triage skills preferred

Experience with Psych/Behavioral Health ED patients

Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
-
Provide emergency nursing care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias

Care for ventilated patients requiring respiratory support
-
Must pass two pass/fail exams during orientation: a medication exam and a telemetry exam, each with only 1 attempt allowed; failure results in immediate contract cancellation

Study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews (FDIs) to help prepare for exams
-
Holiday coverage required for 1 major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year) as part of RTO
-
Priority given to candidates with minimal RTO requests and those committing to 26-week contracts
-
Up to 14 days of RTO can be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
-
Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the same bill rate
-
Candidates residing outside this radius may be eligible under standard travel radius rules of up to 200 miles
-
Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
