We are looking for someone with experience verifying dental insurance benefits and creating treatment plans. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to accurately assess coverage while developing appropriate treatment plans based on patient needs. We are looking for detail-oriented Front Desk Insurance Coordinator to join our fun team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing insurance verification, prior authorizations, and medical history with precision and professionalism. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth administrative operations, uphold clinical confidentiality policies, and support the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures
- Verify patients' dental insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage before appointments.
- Contact insurance companies to confirm deductibles, annual maximums, frequencies, limitations, waiting periods, and exclusions.
- Review patient treatment plans to determine insurance coverage and estimate out-of-pocket costs.
- Prepare and present accurate financial estimates to patients.
- Coordinate with the front office and clinical team to ensure insurance information is current and accurate.
- Obtain pre-authorizations or pre-determinations when required by insurance carriers.
- Maintain accurate documentation of insurance verification details in the practice management system.
- Resolve insurance discrepancies and communicate benefit updates to patients and staff.
- Assist with treatment plan coordination by ensuring all insurance information is verified before scheduling major procedures.
- Stay up to date on insurance policies, coding guidelines, and payer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient questions regarding insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dental office setting with familiarity in health insurance policies and procedures
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for documentation and reporting purposes
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, providers, and insurance companies
- Knowledge of managed care practices, health insurance verification procedures, and dental office operations is preferred
