We're on the hunt for a Kitchen Manager to rock our restaurant's back of the house operations. This role involves spearheading food preparation and cooking, ensuring a well-stocked kitchen, and upholding our stringent standards of safety and cleanliness. Success in this position means not only managing our kitchen crew efficiently but also guaranteeing that every plate is a masterpiece, leaving every guest with a smile.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Work closely with owners, team leaders, and food partners to execute key kitchen strategies ensuring alignment with the overall vision
· Manage and motivate the kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
· Coordinate food orders, supervise food prep and cooking, and monitor food plating and temperature to maintain consistent quality
· Establish portion sizes and contribute to pricing menu items in collaboration with the General Manager
· Oversee weekly inventory processes to manage stock levels effectively
· Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards
· Schedule kitchen staff shifts efficiently and train kitchen staff on prep work, cooking techniques, and adherence to safety and sanitation standards
· Ensure the kitchen consistently meets sanitation and safety standards, implementing corrective action as needed
Skills and Qualifications
· Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager, Restaurant Manager or Head Chef
· Hands-on experience with menu planning, ingredient ordering, and familiarity with various recipes.
· Knowledge of software systems for ordering with experience in GFS and Xtrachef\Toast
· Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
· Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
· Strong conflict management abilities and the capability to lead a team in a fast-paced work environment
· Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends adapting to the demands of the restaurant industry
· Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus
· ServeSafe Food Handling or equivalent training required
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and management
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a commercial food service operation environment and entertainment center. Exposure to noise and large gatherings of people are common. Requires working extended hours with little notice. Work involves the operation of demanding equipment and standing for extended periods of time. Lifting and/or carrying materials weighing up to 30 pounds occurs with varied frequency.
