About the Role
Do you want a career where every day you help others thrive? As a Community Inclusion Specialist (Direct Support Professional) with The Arc Lane County, you’ll empower adults experiencing disabilities to live fuller, more independent, and inclusive lives. You’ll support program participants in community outings, daily living skills, and recreational activities—all while ensuring health, safety, and dignity are the top priority.
This position requires a valid Oregon Driver’s License and/or experience using public transportation. You’ll be out in the community often, helping participants access activities, community events, and social opportunities.
This is an active, hands-on role! You’ll need to:
- Safely lift and transfer at least 30 lbs, up to 75 lbs
- Support mobility needs, including wheelchair transfers and use of assistive devices
- Walk, stand, bend, kneel, and move on uneven ground
- Stay alert and responsive in dynamic environments
What You’ll Do
- Support individuals in their daily living needs (meals, hygiene, mobility)
- Facilitate community access and fun recreational activities
- Electronically document progress, activities, and incidents every shift
- Build trusting relationships with participants and families
- Model professionalism and inclusivity in all interactions
What We’re Looking For
- Age 18+
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License & acceptable driving record
- At least one year of experience supporting people with disabilities (or equivalent education/experience; caregivers are encouraged to apply)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass state & federal background checks
- Tech-savvy with a phone/tablet for documentation

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
