Position Summary
As a Line Cook, you will prepare high-quality menu items according to Toscano's recipes and presentation standards while maintaining exceptional food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency. You'll work closely with the Kitchen Management Team and fellow culinary professionals to deliver an outstanding dining experience for every guest.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Set up and stock workstations before each shift to ensure efficient service.
- Maintain quality, consistency, and attention to detail during high-volume service.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Properly label, store, rotate, and handle food products using FIFO procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation throughout each shift.
- Communicate effectively with Kitchen Team Members and Front of House staff to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with food preparation, opening duties, closing duties, and general kitchen maintenance.
- Minimize food waste while following proper portion control procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the kitchen.
- Must be able to speak and read English.
Qualifications
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Cook in a full-service restaurant. (Required)
- Experience preparing Italian cuisine is a plus, but not required.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional Kitchen Team.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment and work around hot surfaces and sharp utensils.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive kitchen tasks throughout the shift.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $16.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
