Title: Technical Director
Reports To: Worship Producer & Director
Supervises: Tech Team
Date:8/01/2026
A Church On The Move
From the beginning, Shepherd’s Gate was different. SG is a church specifically designed to reach people outside of the church world, yet still connected to our tribe, the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS). This unique combination means we are Confessional & Sacramental, Modern & Relational, and Invitational & Missional. Today, as the broader culture searches for a solid foundation of truth, trust and love in an ever shifting world, our vibe resonates.
As the message of the gospel is clearly communicated and demonstrated, we are excited to continue a season of growth as we seek to impact the world with the love of Jesus.
For the last 3 years, in-person worship at SG has increased an average of 20% per year. We now meet in our gym to accommodate our growth, and we have plans to break ground next year on a larger worship center and gathering space. As God continues to bless our church with new individuals and households, we anticipate moving beyond 1000 people for in-person worship within 24 months.
Numbers can give you a certain perspective, but what they don’t convey is the sense of purpose, energy, and hope infusing our congregation. The sense that God is moving is strong and it’s a fun place to serve as a result. It also means we pivot when needed, and we look for the next opportunity to follow God’s leading...not recklessly, but strategically.
Finding our next full time tech director is an important part of that strategy. We are looking for a talented leader to help plan and execute Sunday worship production as well as support our weekly ministry. We like to plan in advance, sweat the details, and create amazing moments of worship for our community. The emphasis of the tech director role is team building, producing, and the utilization of technical expertise.
The tech director will join a talented staff and volunteer team, growing and scaling our ministry together, in partnership with new worship director, Jeff Cartwright as well as other production staff.
Find us on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and our website (www.sgatechurch.org). If you think you might be a great fit at SG, we’d love to hear from you. Send a resume and cover letter to: [email protected].

Bottom line, we care about offering a fair wage and work hard to achieve that goal. The range listed does not reflect a very strong benefit package, which includes excellent health insurance with no employee contribution, dental, vision, retirement fund, yearly bonuses and raises, and more.
