Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Physical Therapy Technician to support licensed physical therapists in delivering effective patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient recovery across diverse clinical environments, including orthopedics, geriatrics, and post-acute care.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists with patient intake, preparation, and documentation to ensure smooth clinical operations.
- Support patient care activities by setting up treatment areas, applying therapeutic modalities, and monitoring patient responses during sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and treatment plans in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and safety of therapy equipment and treatment spaces.
- Provide exemplary patient service by addressing patient questions, offering encouragement, and fostering a positive environment.
- Support hospital and outpatient teams by facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively assist in clinical procedures.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospital medicine or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Experience working in acute care or sub-acute care environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings across orthopedics, geriatrics, and post-acute care.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
