Substance Use and Mental Health Counselor
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Substance Use and Mental Health Counselor to provide support, guidance, and therapeutic services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to improving clients' well-being through evidence-based practices and a holistic approach.
Key Responsibilities:
-Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ substance use, mental health status, and psychosocial needs.
-Treatment Planning: Create and implement individualized treatment plans that address clients' specific needs and goals.
-Counseling: Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to support clients in their recovery journey.
-Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support and intervention in crises to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
-Education: Educate clients about substance use disorders, mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available resources.
-Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including documentation of assessments, treatment progress, interventions, and outcomes.
-Advocacy: Advocate for clients’ needs and rights, including assistance with accessing community resources, support networks, and services.
-Compliance: Ensure adherence to ethical guidelines, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
-Education: Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
-Licensure/Certification: Valid state licensure or certification (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, CADC) or eligibility for licensure.
-Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in substance use and mental health counseling, preferably in a clinical or outpatient setting.
-Skills: Strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal abilities, proficiency in crisis intervention, and knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities.

Work Environment:

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
