LEAD C.N.A. JOB DESCRIPTION
Function as a liaison between C.N.A. staff and nursing management. This position is a safety sensitive position as defined by applicable state law.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing and currently licensed by the state. Must have 2 years of experience.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must meet all local health regulations.
- Completion of additional education as offered by facility and be able to read and write in a legible and understandable manner.
- Must maintain regular attendance and display good time management capabilities. Must be a leader.
- Must be flexible and able to handle change easily and professionally and maintain a positive attitude.
- Communicate with residents, families and staff in a professional and tactful manner. Be a role model of professionalism and teamwork.
- Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Be on an on call roatation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB:
Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, pushing and pulling, fine hand coordination, ability to hear and respond to pages, ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions; ability to communicate with residents, families, personnel, vendors and consultants; ability to distinguish smells, tastes, and temperatures; and ability to remain calm under stress.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assuring resident safety.
- Conduct rounds of facility to ensure that staff scheduled are present.
- Assist with direct care as needed.
- Assist C.N.A.s with meal service including but not limited to assisting resident up for meals, passing trays and coordinating tasks with dietary department.
- Ensure that job assignments are being completed.
- Prepare hall assignments in advance.
- Discuss an employment issues with Director of Nursing and assist in developing a resolution.
- Visit with residents and address any issue they may have.
- Post hall assignments for the next day.
- Attend morning meeting, bring Master Closet Care Plan book and update as needed to ensure updated information is distributed appropriately.
- Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing policies and procedures.
- Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately.
- Conduct resident rounds as assigned. Report changes in resident's conditions to Charge Nurse or Nurse Supervisor.
- Initiate corrective action as necessary and/or seek assistance of a licensed nurse.
- Identify safety hazards and emergency situations and initiate corrective action.
- Attend all in-service classes as assigned and complete assignments.
- Assume personal responsibility for following facility procedures related to control of equipment and supplies within the work area.
- Document incidents and/or unusual problems according to established facility procedures.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team and other facility meetings as assigned. Review care plans and 11-22-16; Revised 9-25-19 perform nursing care as outlined and implement accordingly.
- Document the care and treatment provided to the resident and the resident's response or lack of response to care provided.
- Complete documentation accurately, timely and following facility policies and procedures.
- Ensure residents have call lights at hand and answer call lights promptly.
- Ensure residents are given adequate assistance with personal and oral hygiene needs.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living.
- Ensure residents are given adequate assistance with meals, nourishment and transportation to meal service area.
- Consistently work cooperatively with residents, charge nurses, treatment nurses, restorative nurses, other nursing assistants, physicians, families, and all other facility personnel.
- Observe all facility safety policies and procedures. Observe all infection control procedures. Observe all facility policies and procedures.
- These duties and responsibilities are not a comprehensive list, and additional tasks may be assigned from time to time. The scope of this position may change as necessitated by business demands.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
