Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for pediatric patients across all age groups, including infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with families and healthcare teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and current clinical guidelines.
- Prescribe medications, administer injections, and perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertions, and spinal taps within scope of practice and under collaborative practice agreements.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions including infectious diseases, behavioral health issues, pain management, and developmental disabilities with a focus on holistic patient care.
- Provide triage services via telehealth or in-person visits to assess urgency and prioritize care needs effectively.
- Educate families on health maintenance, disease prevention, nutrition, medication administration, and developmental milestones to promote overall well-being.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license (FNP, PNP-AC or PNP-PC).
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program; new grads are encouraged to apply!
- Demonstrated knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and clinical assessment techniques.
- Experience working with children in medical office settings or similar environments preferred; however, strong clinical training during education is also valued.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth; familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes is a plus.
- Ability to perform procedures including suturing, venipuncture, catheterization, and basic life support (BLS).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and engage empathetically with young patients and their families.
