JOB DESCRIPTION
This position provides administrative and clerical assistance to the Voting Sites Division of the Elections Department. Performs assisting in various assignments in office. Vote Center Support staff are also the primary employees that monitor, visit, communicate, and coordinate most aspects of securing, monitoring, coordinating, liaising, and maintaining communication with all early voting and election day polling locations in the commissioner district they are assigned to. They are also the primary source of communication, coordination, and information between the Elections Department, Dallas County Commissioners, and the property owners and managers that allow the County access to their buildings for elections and voting operations. Vote Center Support staff also perform on-premise ADA assessments for polling locations and assist with ensuring locations are prepared to meet ADA standards for Dallas County’s elections.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to the Voting Sites Supervisor for daily assignments, updates, accomplishments, and any issues requiring attention.
Performs daily administrative and clerical tasks, including answering phones, scheduling, and organizing documents.
Communicates by various modes with Vote Centers property owners and maintains contact and vendor information.
Conduct ADA assessments; driving is required.
Assist with planning for and arranging the placement of temporary signage/equipment at vote centers to ensure ADA and State of Texas compliance.
Assist in project management by tracking deadlines and facilitating communication.
Other office duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally, in person, and in writing.
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable source of transportation are required. Frequent driving is required.
May require prolonged sitting, standing, walking and ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds unassisted.
Education, Experience and Training
:
Graduation from an accredited high school/GED program. Two (2) years of job-related experience or 30 hours of college or a combination of the two. Experience in a customer service environment a plus
