Join our team as a Pipefitter with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Services to be performed at the North Texas VA Medical Center located in Dallas, TX. This is a contract/locum assignment with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Duties include:
- Install, maintain, and repair a wide range of plumbing, steam, gas, and medical facility systems including water distribution, drainage, sterilizers, laundry and dietic equipment, steam systems, and medical gases.
- Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors, including in basements, kitchens, and manholes.
Schedule: Full-time, 8A-4:30P Mon-Fri. Overtime on a case-by-case basis. No weekends or federal holidays.
Period of Performance: 6-month base period 9/1/2026-2/26/2027 with four additional 6-month options available for a possible total of 2.5 years through 1/30/2029.
Qualifications:
- Education. High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Licensure and certification. Must have and provide copy of active Texas state plumbers/pipefitters license. OSHA certification also required.
- Experience. Must be a journeyman pipefitter with at least 4 years of experience, capable of reading blueprints and following standard codes and safety practices.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). All Carpenters providing services under this contract must wear:
- Arc-rated or natural fiber long pants and long sleeve shirt.
- OSHA approved steel toed foot gear (work-boots)
- Hearing protection
- Eye protection
- Other physical requirements. Frequent physical exertion- standing, bending, and working in cramped areas- with exposures to cuts, bruises, odors, and infectious risks.
- English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
- Subject to background/security investigation.
- Must pass TB test.
- Complete an online onboarding process.
- Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events.
