Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring proper processing of sales transactions
- Make personalized recommendations, upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and safety protocols including food handling and sanitation
- Manage cash transactions efficiently, process payments accurately, and handle cash handling responsibilities with integrity
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in compliance with food safety standards
- Use reservation systems like OpenTable to manage guest seating efficiently and optimize table turnover
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, including fine dining or casual settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations and handle diverse customer needs
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently, including wine knowledge and spirits experience to enhance guest experiences
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and managing cash handling tasks
- Culinary experience or food industry background preferred; knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures required
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality service standards
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or server in a restaurant setting is advantageous but not mandatory
