Our Lynwood studio is seeking a creative, sales-oriented, and highly organized Tattoo Designer & Guest Relations professional to join our team.
Position Overview
This is a client-facing position combining tattoo design, creative consultation, customer relations, and sales.
The successful candidate will welcome clients, understand their tattoo ideas, develop or adapt original tattoo concepts, coordinate consultations with tattoo artists, and guide each client through the booking and sales process.
A professional art and design portfolio is required.
Compensation
- $2,500 monthly base pay
- 3% commission on each completed tattoo personally sold by the employee
- Commission applies only to eligible tattoo sales personally handled and properly recorded under the employee’s name
- Compensation will be administered in compliance with applicable California minimum-wage, overtime, commission, and payroll requirements
Responsibilities
- Welcome studio guests and provide a professional, friendly, and engaging client experience.
- Consult with clients to understand their tattoo ideas, preferences, placement, size, style, and budget.
- Create original tattoo concepts and customized designs based on client requests.
- Revise designs according to client and tattoo artist feedback.
- Match clients with the most suitable tattoo artist based on style and availability.
- Present tattoo concepts and pricing confidently and professionally.
- Convert inquiries, walk-ins, phone calls, and online leads into confirmed appointments.
- Coordinate appointment schedules between clients and tattoo artists.
- Follow up with prospective clients and existing leads in a timely manner.
- Process deposits and payments accurately in accordance with studio procedures.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming front-desk and consultation area.
- Support studio sales targets and daily operational requirements.
- Maintain reliable attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct.
- Protect confidential client information and artwork.
Required Qualifications
- A professional portfolio demonstrating original illustrations, tattoo designs, digital artwork, or related creative work.
- Strong drawing, illustration, and visual-concept development skills.
- Ability to convert a client’s ideas into clear, creative, and tattoo-ready design concepts.
- Proficiency with digital drawing or graphic design software such as Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or equivalent tools.
- Strong customer-service, communication, and sales abilities.
- Confidence in discussing pricing and guiding clients toward confirmed bookings.
- Ability to manage multiple clients, appointments, revisions, and follow-ups.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable attendance and availability to work weekends.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a tattoo studio, art studio, design environment, retail sales, hospitality, or guest relations.
- Knowledge of tattoo styles, placement, sizing, and basic tattoo-production considerations.
- Experience using CRM, booking, point-of-sale, or customer-management systems.
- Previous experience working in a commission-based sales environment.
- Familiarity with social media communication and lead follow-up.
