Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with developmental behavioral disabilities, aging needs, or other health challenges. In this role, you will support residents in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare or caregiving, with experience working in group homes, assisted living, or home & community care settings. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and observe patients for changes in condition, vital signs, and overall well-being
- Administer medication and assist with medication management according to care plans after taking required training
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist residents with meal planning and preparation
- Support residents during activities and social engagements to promote community involvement
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Follow individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, including dementia or Alzheimer's care when applicable
- Respond promptly to emergencies using CPR or first aid skills when necessary
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care
Qualifications
- Local and Level 2 Background check clearance required prior to employment
- Minimum of 1 year prior experience in group home settings, assisted living, or home health preferred
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training highly desirable, can be completed upon hire
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with diverse populations
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and dignified care
