Material Handler
Dundee Manufacturing Company (DMC) is seeking an experienced Material Handler to support our manufacturing operations. This position plays an important role in keeping production running efficiently by ensuring raw materials, finished goods, bins, and packaging materials are moved safely and delivered where they are needed.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment throughout the plant
- Transport steel coils and other raw materials to production areas
- Move finished product and bins between production, packaging, and designated storage areas
- Deliver packaging materials and other supplies to production departments as needed
- Maintain proper material flow to help prevent production delays
- Load, unload, stage, and organize materials safely and efficiently
- Verify materials and products are placed in the correct locations
- Assist with inventory organization and material identification
- Inspect loads for stability before transporting materials
- Maintain clear aisles, storage areas, and material handling routes
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Follow all DMC safety procedures, traffic rules, and material handling requirements
- Communicate with production, packaging, and leadership regarding material needs and priorities
- Assist with other plant duties as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Previous material handling experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required
- Forklift experience required
- Experience handling steel coils, heavy materials, bins, or similar manufacturing loads strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of safe load handling and load stability
- Ability to work independently and manage changing production priorities
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Strong attention to safety and surroundings
- Ability to work effectively around production equipment, pedestrians, and forklift traffic
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb throughout the shift
- Safely enter and exit forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Work in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures
- Lift and handle materials as required by the position
