Job Summary

As a Hospice Volunteer, you will provide emotional support, companionship, and practical assistance to individuals receiving end-of-life care. Your presence and kindness will help create a comforting environment, offering peace and reassurance to those in need. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for patients while fostering a sense of community and hope.
Responsibilities
- Offer companionship through conversation, reading, listening, or engaging in activities that bring comfort and joy.
- Assist with light household tasks or errands to support patients' independence and well-being.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families, listening empathetically and offering reassurance.
- Support the hospice team by helping with non-medical tasks as needed, such as delivering supplies or running errands.
- Respect patient confidentiality and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
- Attend training sessions to stay informed about best practices in hospice care and volunteer responsibilities.
- Document volunteer hours and activities accurately to ensure proper record-keeping.

- Reliable, responsible, and able to commit to scheduled volunteer shifts consistently.

- Basic understanding of hospice care principles is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
