If you're an experienced Tool & Die Technician who enjoys solving problems, working hands-on, and keeping production running smoothly, this could be a great opportunity for you.
In this role, you'll support an automotive manufacturing operation by maintaining and repairing transfer dies used to produce vehicle body panels. Your day may involve troubleshooting die issues, completing preventative maintenance, making dimensional adjustments, and working closely with production teams to minimize downtime and maintain quality standards.
You'll use a variety of shop equipment, including tryout and spotting presses, CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and shears. We are looking for someone who is comfortable welding and fabricating components using TIG, MIG, and ARC processes, as well as someone who understands stamping operations such as drawing, piercing, trimming, flanging, restriking, and cam functions.
You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing die steels, scrap cutters, clearances, and common panel defects. The role also requires the ability to measure accurately using precision tools, fabricate or reverse engineer replacement components when needed, and implement engineering changes from planning through tryout with minimal supervision.
Safety is a key part of the position. You'll regularly use overhead cranes to move, rotate, and position dies, and you may operate forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles. Strong time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions are essential.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, warehousing, or distribution environment preferred
- Tool & Die experience required
- CNC certification or related experience preferred
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role
- Flexibility to work rotating day, evening, and night shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally
- Commitment to supporting company goals related to Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Cost, and People (SQECP)
