Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts.
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary to promote proper nutrition and hydration.
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning personal spaces, laundry, and common areas.
- Support clients with memory care needs related to dementia or Alzheimer's disease through patience, engagement, and structured routines.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and assist in updating personalized care plans regularly.
Skills
- Proven experience in home & community care or assisted living environments with a focus on patient observation and monitoring.
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR certification, and emergency response procedures to ensure safety at all times.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or dementia-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s or memory care needs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident transfer devices.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams, residents’ families, and other caregivers.
- Experience with medication administration, vital sign measurement, and implementing care plans aligned with nursing or hospice protocols.
- Flexibility to adapt to different client needs while maintaining professionalism and compassion in all interactions. Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
