Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Receptionist to join our busy dental practice. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, answer multi-line phone systems, and provide excellent customer service with professional phone etiquette
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
- Manage patient intake forms, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with insurance verification, coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and medical billing procedures in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Maintain organized dental records and ensure proper filing of electronic health records (EHR) using systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech
- Support front desk operations by managing office supplies, handling correspondence, and performing clerical tasks such as data entry and filing
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist in a clinical setting with dental office experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding, CPT coding, and health information management systems
- Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with EMR systems like Epic or Meditech is a plus
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and typing (10 key typing)
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information following HIPAA guidelines with discretion and professionalism
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and medical administrative support
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
- Prior clinic or hospital experience involving medical scheduling, insurance verification, and medical billing is advantageous
