American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a day shift hospital position in Indiana, requiring active Cerner experience and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

Short-term acute care hospital setting on a Labor & Delivery unit
-
Patient population includes active labor, induction, scheduled and unscheduled C-sections, C-section with salpingectomy, SROM, PPROM, hypertension, preeclampsia, antepartum, and triage patients

Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for non-active labor, and up to 1:3 for triage or antepartum patients

Equipment used includes CADD epidural pumps, Alaris IV pumps, Philips wired and wireless monitoring, Periwatch (with Vigilance), Steadys, Hillrom labor beds, Draeger Radiant warmers, vein light, V-Scan, and birthing/peanut balls

Charting is done in Cerner (experience required)

Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Floating required within the Maternal Child Health (MCH) service line and potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby

Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and FHM (AHA and RQI formats accepted; must be current)

Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required

Cerner EMR experience required

Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required

2 supervisor references required for consideration

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are not eligible for this position

Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment

Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved

Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month break in employment before applying as a traveler

Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break, prior to reaching the 12-month mark
