Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tow Truck Driver to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and commercial driving. This role involves providing exceptional customer service while safely operating tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized equipment. Candidates should possess mechanic experience, familiarity with automotive repair, and the ability to handle various roadside assistance situations efficiently and professionally.
Duties
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other models, to recover and transport vehicles
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Perform basic automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments on vehicles in need of towing or roadside assistance
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients during stressful situations
- Assist with vehicle repairs or minor mechanical issues when required
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards of the tow truck and work environment
- Manage conflict situations professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to safety protocols
- Document all towing activities accurately for company records and billing purposes
Skills
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbeds, with a strong understanding of vehicle loading procedures
- Automotive diagnostics skills combined with mechanical knowledge for assessing vehicle conditions
- Experience with automotive repair and basic mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to drive manual transmissions and operate commercial vehicles safely under various conditions
- Familiarity with automotive repair tools and equipment such as forklifts is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflict calmly and professionally
- Strong driving record with valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory for all positions
- Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while maintaining safety standards
- Mechanical experience or mechanic background is highly desirable for troubleshooting vehicle issues during roadside assistance
