Description:
Job Overview: The Fleet Assistant supports daily vehicle operations across Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois' South Elgin and Elgin clubhouses. This role is responsible for completing bi-weekly vehicle inspections, keeping vehicles clean and fueled, and reporting any concerns to the Facilities & Fleet Coordinator. The Fleet Assistant will work across a fleet of 9 vehicles with 3 additional vehicles anticipated by end of June, playing a key role in keeping the organization's growing fleet ready for program use.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Inspections & Documentation:

Conduct bi-weekly vehicle inspections across a fleet of 9 vehicles and complete required documentation accurately and on time

Identify and report vehicle concerns, damage, or maintenance needs to the Facilities & Fleet Coordinator promptly
Basic Vehicle Upkeep:

Clean vehicle interiors and exteriors on a regular basis

Fuel vehicles as needed to ensure they are ready for use

Check fluid levels and tire condition and report any concerns to the Coordinator
Additional Responsibilities:

Complete additional tasks and duties as assigned by the Facilities & Fleet Coordinator
Travel:
-
Regular travel between the South Elgin Clubhouse (SECH) and Elgin Clubhouse (ECH) to support fleet operations at both locations

Occasional travel for other job-related tasks as needed
Requirements:
Qualifications:

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Must be at least 21 years of age

Authorized to work in the United States

Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting

Willing and eligible to complete training to drive a 12 to 15-passenger van

Reliable transportation to travel between South Elgin and Elgin locations

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety standards

Flexibility to travel between locations as required

Ability to perform physical tasks throughout facilities, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds

Experience with vehicle inspections, fleet support, or transportation coordination a plus

DOT knowledge a plus

First Aid/CPR certification a plus
