Overview
firstPRO US's client is seeking a hands-on Network Infrastructure Engineer to support critical enterprise data center operations and infrastructure initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with hardware, has a strong networking background, and can independently execute infrastructure deployments and upgrades in a fast-paced production environment.
The ideal candidate has solid Cisco networking expertise, strong firewall knowledge, and experience working within enterprise data centers. This individual should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of taking ownership of assigned projects with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Install, rack, stack, and cable network and server equipment within enterprise data centers.
- Perform hardware installations, upgrades, replacements, and infrastructure refresh projects.
- Power up, validate, and troubleshoot newly deployed hardware.
- Build and expand network infrastructure to support ongoing business initiatives.
- Perform physical hands-on work within production data center environments.
- Configure network devices after installation, including switches, routers, and related infrastructure.
- Verify network connectivity and ensure equipment is installed according to design documentation.
- Follow network diagrams and infrastructure documentation, including Visio drawings.
- Support infrastructure maintenance while ensuring high availability of critical systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on deployment and implementation activities.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure (8-10 years preferred).
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching.
- Experience installing and supporting equipment in enterprise data center environments.
- Solid understanding of enterprise firewall technologies.
- Ability to interpret network diagrams and infrastructure documentation.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal direction.
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and infrastructure best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering Check Point firewalls.
- Experience with Palo Alto or Fortinet firewalls.
- Background in field engineering, infrastructure deployment, or data center operations.
- Industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar) are a plus but not required.
Pay: Up to $60.00 per hour
