Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced dental clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This position requires a blend of clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping patients achieve optimal oral health.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans, using Dentrix or similar dental software.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Manage appointment scheduling, including follow-ups and reminders for patients.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining infection control protocols.
- Support pediatric dentistry efforts by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient experiences and address any concerns or questions.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental terminology and procedures related to dental assisting.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry.
- Familiarity with managing medical records efficiently within a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of prosthodontics practices is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience using 3D scanners for dental impressions is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients of all ages, particularly in pediatric settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
